A Sulfuric Acid Concentration (SAC) plant is a facility that evaporates water from sulfuric acid to increase its concentration. The process is used to concentrate sulfuric acid from 10% to 98%.The dilute sulfuric acid solution is put into a multistage evaporator system and concentrated under a vacuum. Preheated feed is evaporated with steam/thermal fluid heating to remove water selectively. Vapors condense through barometric condensers, while non-condensable gases are expelled through an ejector.
